Over 70% of Older Adults Are Unwilling to Live in a Nursing Home

new study from the John A. Hartford Foundation shows “71% of older adults are unwilling to live in a nursing home in the future.” 90% say that changes are needed to make nursing homes appealing to them.

These findings may impact the use of MAID and VSED. More than 30 years ago, the Larry McAfee case showed how the quality of nursing home care affects end-of-life decision making.
