Friends:

Just in time for the Nov. 3 election, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights is hosting a virtual dialogue, “Your Right to Vote: A Q&A on the Intersection of Voting Rights and Civil Rights” on Monday, October 26 at 12:00 noon. The event features Michigan’s chief election officer, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and Michigan’s top law enforcement officer, Attorney General Dana Nessel. Join MDCR Director James E. White who will lead the 30-minute discussion on MDCR’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. The session will have captioning and an ASL interpreter.

The three will address a range of topics, including:

  • same day, in-person registration and voting
  • voter intimidation and who to contact if you experience it
  • accessible voting options for individuals with disabilities
  • voting rights for residents with a criminal conviction

Please feel free to share on your social media pages, and with anyone interested in making sure Michigan voters are armed with the information they need to exercise their right to vote on Nov. 3!
